Abstract

In the latest decade, the environmental problems in the cities lead to many influences on communities and urban activities. The Climate and natural resources changes are the main factors that affected the urban districts. Many procedures have been done to limit the environmental catastrophes.

The sustainable urban and environmental planning strategies are one of the most important procedures that focus on building modern urban communities, which have a harmony relationship with the surround environments. The development plans include these communities without harming the surround environment. The land use one of the main criteria that affected the ecosystem and the growth factor change in urban district that cusses the random expanding. The environment impacts that cussed by the land use can be measured with three concepts: first, the green spaces, second, the convenient, third harmony.

In this Paper, The GIS has been used to analyze and modeling the land use affects environment and the influences on urban sustainable planning. There are three main criteria has been used. First, the green spaces. Second, the optimal location for the new urban districts (reserving the agriculture land). Third, the integration ecosystem and land use. The spatial analyze tool has been used and the modeling includes the Model Builder, which produced the land use model for Lattakia.
