Abstract

AL-Mourabatah movement in Al-Sham gaps played positive role in defending the Islamic state borders in the medieval period. It was composed of two groups: The monthly or annual paid organized forces and the voluntary group who, most of them went there to fulfill religious duty of Jihad, they both worked to gather to guard and defend the borders against the foes of the nation, this movement was mainly active in the 3AH and 4AH / 9AB and 10AB century, in the period when the power of the Abbasid state weekend and disappeared, At that time Al-Sham gaps became a destination to Sufis which was a movement flourished in the Islamic world, for self-striving and Fighting the enemies of the nation.
