Abstract

The results of the study showed that the incidence of cancerous tumors varies according to the sex of the patient, as it was found that the proportion of male patients (40.40%) is less than the percentage of female patients (59.60%). We also observed an increase in the number of people with cancer, starting from the age group 35-45 years, and the peak incidence was within the age group 55-65 years, and that most of the cases were within the married group, which represented 88.7% of the studied sample. As for the relationship between cancerous tumors, smoking and drinking alcohol, we note that 24.6% of the research samples studied are current smokers in addition to 8.8% former smokers, and we also note that 5.8% of the studied research samples were alcoholic, either now or previously. As for the most common types of cancer in Syria, we noticed that breast cancer is the most prevalent, as it represented 37.6% of the research sample, followed by lung cancer by 8.7% and throat 8.4%, and the results of the study showed that most of the injuries were in Aleppo governorates by 29.8% Of the total research sample studied, followed by Lattakia by 23.7% and Tartous by 20.3%.
