Microwave Assisted Synthesis of 1,3,4- oxadiazole، thiazolidine derivatives
Abstract
1,3,4 oxadizole derivatives forms a group of biologically important compounds with activities such as analgesic, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal، antifungal, antispasmodic، psychotropic drugs, plant growth regulation and monoamine oxidase inhibition. This study focused on the synthesis of oxadiazole derivatives containing thiazolidine under microwave irradiation for the purpose of developing new drugs. For the first time, thiazolidine was synthetized from the reaction of benzaldehyde with cysteine in high yield using microwaves irradiation at 340Watt. Next, measures were taken to prepare thiazolidine hydrazide (L3), which was reacted with a carboxylic acid or carbon disulfide and a base to obtain an oxadiazole derivative (L4, L5, L6, L7 and L8). The synthesized compound was characterized and validated using melting point, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), FT-IR, (EI) mass spectroscopy, Elemental Analysis, and nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy NMR.
