Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic disease that primary target the synovium leading to synovial inflammation and proliferation loss of articular cartilage and erosion of juxta articular bone.
Acute phase reactants increase in rheumatoid arthritis and albumin levels decrease. due to proinflammatory cytokines effects.
It is important to find a noval and easier.predictive marker to evaluate the severity of rheumatoid arthritis so we study the correlation between car and das28esr.
- The main objective: To study the relationship between CAR and disease activity of rheumatoid arthritis by using DAS28ESR.
Secondary objectives: the study of the realationship between CAR and the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. 1.
- Find Cut off values for CAR by dividing RA patients into two groups Early and Eastablished RA and dividing each group of them into another two groups by using DAS28ESR.
Methods: This was a cross sectional study.involved 60 patients with proven diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis admitted at the department of rheumatology Tishreen University Hospital Lattakia during 2023- 2024

Results and discussion: the current study of 60 patients with rheumatoid arthritis showed that the proportion of females with rheumatoid arthritis was higher than men with rheumatoid arthritis 2.8:1, 73.3% female.
And showed strong significant relationship between car and das28esr and esr and strong negative relationship between.das28esr and albumin levels
No relationship between car and the medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and between car and rheumatoid factor.
