Abstract

أجريت الدراسة في مستشفى الولادة والأطفال بمحافظة الإحساء_المملكة العربية السعودية ما بين تشرين الأول 2003 وأيار 2007

ضمت الدراسة 199 حالة (89 ذكر و110 أنثى وبنسبة 0.8/1) تراوحت أعمارهم من بعد الولادة مباشرة وحتى عمر 13 سنة لديهم فتحات ما بين البطينين حول غشائية (pm VSD) صغيرة القطر(≤ 5مم) تمت متابعتهم لمدة 4,7 سنة وسطيا .

بينت الدراسة أن أكبر نسبة للانغلاق العفوي حدث لدى مجموعة الأعمار الصغيرة حيث بلغ 69.04 % كما بينت الدراسة أنه مع تقدم العمر تنخفض نسبة الانغلاق العفوي حتى أنه بعد عمر 3 سنوات لم يلاحظ الانغلاق العفوي لدى أية حالة وقد بينت الدراسة أيضا أن 1,5 % من الحالات احتاجت إلى إصلاح جراحي بسبب ظهور قصور الدسام الأبهري التالي لانسدال الوريقة الإكليلية اليمنى له, كما حدث لدى 1,5% من الحالات التهاب شغاف القلب, وأكدت الدراسة أيضا أنه لا تحدث أعراض سريرية لقصور قلب أو اختلاطات أخرى لهذا النوع من الفتحات .

Between October 2003 and May 2007 (119) Children (89 males vs. 110 females) with small perimembranous ventricular septal defects (pm VDSS) were studied in the Maternity and Children Hospital of AL-Hassa in Saudi Arabia. The age at the time of diagnosis ranged between post-birth and 13 years.The mean follow-up period  was 4,7 years. Spontaneous closure of VDSS was highest in the younger age group 69.04%. No spontaneous closure of VDSS was detected after 3 years of age. 1.5% of cases developed mild aortic insufficiency and required surgical treatment. Also, 1.5% of cases had infective endocarditis during the follow-up period. None of the patients had cardiac insufficiency or other cardiac side-effects.
