Study of the chemical content of Azadirachta indica
Abstract
(Azadirachta indica)
The chemical content of the Azadirachta indica was detected from flavonoids, alkaloids, soap and glycosides which is found in the leaves of the neem plant cultivated in the Syrian environment in the governorate of Homs – Al- Hawash University, as well as the percentages of both proline and chlorophyll in the manner of ninhidrine and arnone, respectively.
The results showed that the leaves of the dry plant on the proline were 0.005% and chlorophyll was 59.148 μg / mL.
he amount of flavonoids extracted in each solvent by aluminum chloride method was determined by using the standard quarstine curve. The highest percentage of flavonoids was obtained using methanol solvent (the solvent, 529 mg in 100 g of dry leaves). The lowest was using the solvent of butanol (63 mg in 100 g dry leaves).
