The Reality of the Programs and Services Provided by Public Schools to Students with Learning Disabilities in the Light of Quality Control Indicators in Jordan
Abstract
This study aimed to find out the reality of the programs and services provided by public schools to students with learning disabilities in the light of quality control indicators in Jordan.The population of the study consisted of all educational learning resource rooms (51) in the Mafraq Governorate located in three educational directorate, The Mafraq Borough Directorate of Education, The North West Badia Directorate of Education, and The Eastern North Badia Region Directorate of Education. The number of active rooms reached 34. In order to achieve the objective of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire that consisted of 108 items divided into 12 areas (vision, thought and message; management and organization of the program, record keeping, and methods of storing and retrieving information; program financing and budget; qualifications of workers in the program; evaluation and diagnosis; single student educational program (student curriculum); methods of teaching and educational activities; the organization of support services in the program; the educational environment; participation and support of family empowerment; and self-assessment. The means and standard deviations were used to answer the study questions.Results revealed the following:The reality of the programs and services provided by public schools to students with learning disabilities in the light of quality control indicators in Jordan in got medium degree, The field of "vision, thought and mission" got the first rank with a high degree, and the field of "financial budget sources for the program" got the last rank with a low degree.The most important recommendations included conducting similar studies in each of the major areas of the programs and services provided for people with learning disabilities.
