Abstract

The research aimed at the developmental concept of sociology to restore its original historical concept as a necessary methodological input to activate its developmental role, and to emphasize its importance within the system of social sciences as a general science within this system of other sub-sciences.

The developmental role of sociology means, as it requires, the completion of two basic tasks, the first is the task of scientific interpretation of the relevant social reality, and the second task is to change it and create another new reality. What this means is that the dialectics of sociology with this important and great role is the same as the dialectics of interpretation and change or theory and practice, which puts us before the famous Marxist equation (philosophy of practice and practice of philosophy).

In order to reach the desired goal, we had to research important headings under this broad heading, perhaps the most prominent of which is social theory, as a general methodology, and political practice in the light of a specific social-class ideology.

The conclusion of the research emphasized the error and danger of confusing the tasks of sociology in each of the developed countries, which have achieved development and achieved high growth rates, and the underdeveloped countries concerned with development. This is because the primary task of this science in the second countries is a developmental one par excellence, just as it was in the first countries (the nineteenth century) before the tasks of economic development, national sovereignty and national unity were accomplished, not to mention secularism, democracy, justice and freedom.
