Abstract

The study of the history of any state of modern times and its beginnings must talk about the influence of women on the political power in the state, and the role they played in political life. Hence, this study aims to know the role of women in political life during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Al-Qanoony. This is because the Ottoman Empire formed one of the most important empires and states that ruled the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe in the beginning of modern times, and relied on Islamic foundations to establish its existence as an independent entity.

It was also necessary to know the reality of the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Al-Qanoony (1520-1566 AD), because the Ottoman Empire lived the height of its political, economic and social glory during his reign, and he was able to lay the foundations for a comprehensive renaissance during his reign, so his rule became called the golden age of the Ottoman Empire, but This development was accompanied by a number of disturbances, which paved the way for the decline of the power of the Ottoman Empire, represented in the increase in the influence of women within the circle of power, and their ability to impose their opinions on Sultan Suleiman the Al-Qanoony, and to interfere in the political life in the state, through their success in interfering in matters of government, and persuading The Sultan appointed their sons in the mandate of the Covenant or even interfered in the appointment of a number of senior leaders in the decision-making position, and this was considered the beginning of the end of the era of power in the Ottoman Empire.
