Emotional Intelligence and its Relationship to Achievement among Male and Female Gymnasts in Syria

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of emotional intelligence among male and female gymnasts, as well as to identify the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and achievement of the study sample, and to identify the differences in the level of emotional intelligence among male and female gymnasts, the study sample consisted of (8) male and female gymnasts, Where they were chosen intentionally for the age group (14-16 years), the researcher used a Bar-On scale to measure emotional intelligence as a tool to collect data, and the number of medals obtained in various Arab and institutional championships measure the level of achievement, the data was analyzed using the parameters Statistical data the following: statistical averages, standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, The results of the study indicated that the study sample had an average level of emotional intelligence, as the results indicated that there was no statistically significant correlation between the level of emotional intelligence and achievement for the study sample, and there were no statistically significant differences between male and female gymnasts except for the field of social competence.
