Abstract
According to the study of the flora of Lattakia (Syria), two plant species Silene reinwardtii belong to family Caryophyllaceae and Matthiola tricuspidata belong to the family Brasicaceae have been collected and recorded for the first time in Syria according to the flora of Syria and libani (Mouterde, 1966, 1983).
In this research paper, morphological and anatomical study with detailed description is included, this was accomplished by performing anatomical sections of root, stem, leaf and leaf petiole, and the internal composition of these parts were thoroughly studied.
Furthermore, pollen grains of the two plant species were studied and examined carefully with light microscope, which revealed that in S. reinwardtii are Polyporate (Pantotreme), their shape is globular and the sculpture of exine is microechinate. While in M. tricuspidata are (Nonaperturate), their shape is globular, and the tectum with angular reticulate collumellae.
