تحسين الطاقة المستهلكة في شبكات الرقاقة الواحدة باستخدام العناصر الضوئية
Abstract
Demand is increasing in daily our lives for more powerful processors, longer-life batteries and smaller-sized portable devices at lower cost .So the complexity of electronic systems will increase over time, based on the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS). as a result of that, using MPSOC (Multiprocessor System On Chip) will be as a promising solution to the complexity of these systems. The main challenges arising the electronic complexity process that are facing MPSOC design is how to connect the basic components of these systems. Use traditional methods for connecting the components such as bus, cause problems such as excessive power consumption and limited bandwidth. It was proposed to use the Network On Chip (NOC) to solve these problem.
In our research, we proposed building an ONOC (Optical Network On Chip) to improve an important MPSOC parameter, which is the power consumption. The results showed that the use of optical links in Network On Chip improves the power consumption significantly.
يزداد الطلب في حياتنا اليومية على معالجات أكثر قوة، بطاريات ذات عمر أطول وأجهزة محمولة ذات حجم أصغر وبكلفة مادية أقل.مما يؤدي إلى زيادة تعقيد الأنظمة الالكترونية مع الزمن وذلك بناءً على توقعات منظمة (ITRS) (International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors) [1]. بالنتيجة سيكون استخدام أنظمة الرقاقة الواحدة متعددة المعالجات MPSOC(Multiprocessor System On Chip) حلاً واعداً لتعقيد هذه الأنظمة. إن أهم التحديات الناتجة عن عملية التعقيد الالكتروني التي تواجه تصميم (MPSOC), هو كيفية ربط المكونات الأساسية لهذه الأنظمة. حيث أن وصل المكونات بالطرق التقليدية كاستخدام الربط الخطي bus يتسبب ببعض المشكلات كالاستهلاك الزائد للطاقة ومحدودية عرض الحزمة. تم اقتراح استخدام شبكات الرقاقة الواحدة (Network On Chip) NOC من أجل حل تلك المشكلات. اقترحنا ضمن بحثنا بناء شبكة تستخدم الوصلات الضوئيةONOC (Optical Network On Chip) وذلك لتحسن بارامتر هام من بارامترات (MPSOC) وهو الاستطاعة المستهلكة، حيث بينت النتائج أن استخدام الوصلات الضوئية في شبكات الرقاقة الواحدة يحسن من الاستطاعة المستهلكة بشكل ملحوظ.
