Abstract

The ancient Arabic scholars defined the name, “It is the change of the vowel. And the previous definition shows us that this division of them is morphological and not phonetic, but their statement: The purpose of Illu’l is mitigation reflects their confusion in understanding the issue of Illumination, and their violation of what was stated by modern linguistics, as vowels are the most easily pronounced sounds in terms of muscular effort, And the absence of an obstacle that obstructs the air leaving the stomach when pronouncing it. Likewise, if we return to their divisions, we will find that there are many explanations based on illusory assumptions that are not governed by linguistic logic.Modern linguists have found that morphological relations are governed by phonemic morphological laws, as contexts appear that contain inconsistent sounds and half-phones among themselves, so Arabic resorts to various methods to get rid of this phonetic juxtaposition that generates dissonance, the most prominent of which is the phonemic law of homology.
