The poetry of promiscuity and the philosophy of Epicurean pleasure A study of immoral poetry in the first Abbasid age
Abstract
promiscuity poetry in the first Abbasid era is poetry that carries within it doubt, atheism, arrogance, recklessness, immorality, pleasure, and rebellion against what is established in literature, art, life, and religion. This term has been linked to Greek philosophy, and in particular Epicurean philosophy. Which was called the philosophy of pleasure because it calls for taking the path of pleasure and enjoyment in life, and the research seeks to study the promiscuity poets of that era and their tendency toward pleasure, frivolity, and recklessness. Because that era was distinguished from others by economic and intellectual prosperity, and its poets were distinguished by deep culture and knowledge of importing cultures and philosophies.
