Resources of the Positional, Touristic, Recreational Geographical System (as a Continuum Societal Natural Structure— Lattakia: An Example)
Abstract
The positional touristic and recreational geographical system is actually a societal phenomenon that aims to meet the touristic expectations of mankind taking into consideration the "interests" of all relevant parties to this process. From the vantage point of the geographical system method, the positional touristic and recreational system is part and parcel of the societal systems that encompass the positional conglomerate of all the constituents and fields of the residents' vital activities. Needless to say that the structure of the positional societal systems also subsumes, from the functional method, secondary sub-systems including productive and natural resources, population, construction, and the infra-and social structures. The Governorate of Lattakia, however, constitutes a touristic apparatus of national significance that manifests its unique touristic message in the coastal area.
