Linguistic Collocation at Ancients and Modernists
Abstract
The phenomenon of the collocation in the language is a linguistic phenomenon that is common in all languages and does not have a specific language. It means the usual attachment of a word in a language to certain other words in that language. The linguistic collocation is also a branch of semantics. In many cases we find that the lexical meaning of the word does not achieve the intended meaning, so it was necessary to go to the context to note the words that may accompany this word, and this does not deny the role of the lexicon meaning, but strengthens it ; Because this complication contributes to the determination of d The central word of the word, and contribute to the creation of semantics can not be expressed in a single word. Hence the interest of the ancients to investigate the accuracy of the use of the appropriate word in the right place, without attention to the development of laws governing this phenomenon, and in the modern era, the phenomenon of linguistic accompaniment drew the attention of linguists, they drew attention to study, and the rules governing them, First, how did linguists understand the phenomenon of linguistic accompaniment?
