Abstract

The relationship between the skeletal malocclusion and the 2 smile parameter (the upper anterior teeth exposure and the length of the upper lip) was studied to benefit from this relationship in the diagnostic records.

Aims: To investigate the existence of a correlation between the skeletal malocclusion  and the length of upper lip and upper anterior exposure.

Materials and methods: The study included 98 patients between (18-25) years. Lateral cephalometric radiographs and taken and photographs were taken. To determine the skeletal malocclusion type , Audaxceph was used to analyze the radiographs of the participants in the research and to determinate the length of upper lip und anterior exposure .

Results:. Where the study confirmed that the difference was substantial between the average length of upper lip and upper  anterior teeth exposure between the three skeletal type at a level of significance of 5%.
