Abstract

The study aimed to demonstrate the impact of loan portfolio growth (capital adequacy, asset quality, liquidity management) on the financial performance of private commercial banks in Syria.

The researcher used the deductive approach to test the impact of loan portfolio growth on the financial performance of private commercial banks in Syria. Such as return on equity, earnings per share, return on assets and loss allowance for loans for total loans, and profitability of loan portfolio.

The study reached a number of results, including:

The absence of a fundamental difference and the absence of a significant effect between the capital adequacy (one of the factors of loan portfolio growth) and the financial performance (the rate of return on assets) of the Bank of Syria and Overseas.

The absence of a fundamental difference and the absence of a significant effect between the quality of assets (one of the factors of loan portfolio growth) and the financial performance (the rate of return on equity) of the Bank of Syria and Overseas.

The absence of a fundamental difference and the absence of a significant effect between liquidity management (one of the factors of loan portfolio growth) and financial performance (earnings per share) Arab Bank Syria.
