The Reality of Practicing Transformational Leadership Methods Among Leaders in the Management of Physical Preparation and Sports in Syria

Abstract

This study aims to know the reality of practicing transformational leadership methods among leaders in the Physical Preparation and Sports Department in Syria. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive approach was adopted by distributing a research questionnaire to an appropriate sample of leaders and workers in the Physical Preparation and Sports Department in Syria, numbering (181) individuals, (157) questionnaires were retrieved, of which valid for analysis, with a recovery rate of (86.7%). In light of this, data was collected and analyzed and hypotheses tested using SPSS statistical package for social sciences. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: There is a high level of application of the transformational leadership style by leaders in the Department of Physical Preparation and Sports in Syria, and social communication among the respondents. The results of the study also showed that there is a high level of application of all dimensions of transformational leadership in the organization under study, as the features of idealized influence were the most evident among the dimensions of transformational leadership, followed by empowerment, then motivation and intellectual stimulation at the same level, and finally individualized consideration.

The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is strengthening the leadership skills of administrative leaders in the physical preparation and sports Department , and focusing on transformational leadership that contributes to enhancing positive behaviors of employees and raising their performance.
