التشـوهـات الفقـريـة عند العـــلاج المـديـد بالسـتيروئيدات القشـريــة
Abstract
أجريت الدراسة لتحديد معدل حدوث التشوهات الفقــــريــــة، عند العلاج المديد بالستيروئيدات القشرية، والعوامل المساهمة في ظهور هذه التشوهات. اشتملت الدراسة على (26) مريضاً (21 أنثى و5 ذكور) معالجين بالستيروئيدات القشرية الفموية ( لمدة ≥ 6 أشهر، وبجرعة ≥ 5 ملغ بريدنيزون يومياً). كانت نسبة التشوهات الفقرية الإجمالية في عينة الدراسة (57.7%) من بينها (38.5%) كان لديهم تشوه فقري وحيد، و(19.2%) كان لديهم تشوه فقري مزدوج، أو أكثر. كما أظهرت الدراسة أن العمر المتقدم، والجنس الأنثوي، وسن اليأس، وجرعة الستيروئيدات اليومية، ومدة تناولها، ومدة المرض الأساسي المعالج بالستيروئيدات القشرية بالإضافة إلى انخفاض قيمة الكثافة العظمية، كلها تعتبر عوامل خطورة في ظهور هذه التشوهات.
This study is performed to determine the rate of vertebral deformities with long term corticosteroid treatment and the factors contributing to the development of these deformities. The study includes (26) patients (21 females and 5 males) who were treated with oral corticosteroids (for ≥6 months, ≥5mg prednisone daily). The percentage of vertebral deformities in the study specimen (57.7%) of which (38.5%) have one vertebral deformity and (19.2%) have two or more vertebral deformities.
Also, it shows that advanced age, female gender, menopause, the daily dose of corticosteroids and the duration of its use, the duration of the disease which was treated with corticosteroids and low bone mineral density are risk factors for the development of these deformities.
