Abstract

The research aimed to investigate the level of critical thinking and the level of curiosity among fifth graders, and then to know the relationship between them.

To achieve this goal, the descriptive approach was used, and the "critical thinking" test and the "curiosity" test were prepared, and after ensuring the validity and reliability of the two tests according to a sample of 250 male and female students from the fifth grade students in Aleppo for the academic year 2021/2022

The results showed that the level of critical thinking among the research sample was average in relation to the total score of the test and for each of its dimensions (recognition of assumptions, interpretation, conclusion, induction, evaluation of arguments), and the results also showed that the level of curiosity among the research sample was low for both the total score of the test and the cognitive dimension, while the students' level was average regarding the cognitive dimension. It was also shown that there is a correlation between students' scores on the critical thinking test and their scores on the curiosity test, and this relationship is positive
