Abstract

The digital libraries really regarded as future libraries in the shade of the common orientation occurred in the entire world toward converting to the electronic world and the digital content. The field of libraries and information is hardly seeking to track this movement trying to take advantage of the new technics applications of computers and information technology and telecommunication systems to apply it on the ground in the spacious world of libraries, proving that the field of libraries and information haven't and never die, but it is trying to track developments. In this paper we are trying to be educated about digital libraries, the beginnings of its rising, the factors which rise the need to establish such libraries and its contained groups, in addition to the basic functions performed by the digital libraries. After all the study moves to talk about the image of the arab digital libraries, its circumstance and challenges that it stand up to, and we take a sample of a digital librarie, Almanhal Digital Library for instance, and explain the main points of this library and its groups importance and the ways of using it by beneficiaries.
