Abstract

The research aims to study the development of indicators of higher education, study the development of social development indicators in the Syrian Arab Republic, design a mathematical model for linking these indicators, and analyze the relationship between them, and the research relied on the descriptive analytical approach to study the development of study variables, and design the study model using the Canonical Correlation, The study reached the following main results: that the indicators of higher education are linked to the variables of social development at 99.9%. The Variables (the number of colleges in the Syrian government universities, female percentage of university students, the ratio of graduate students to studies, the proportion of the higher education budget from the education budget, and the variable of the proportion of higher education budget from the general budget) have a positive effect in the first Canonical compound, and the Variables (the university admission rate, the average number of students per member of the educational body, the percentage of graduates from the number of students, and the percentage of institute graduates from institute students) have a negative impact on the first Canonical compound, while the variables (the average population per doctor, the expected life at birth, the proportion of the population in the area Urban settings and the unemployment rate) have a positive effect on the first Canonical compound, while the variables ( the average population for each bed, the infant mortality rate, the fertility rate, and the gender ratio) have a negative impact on the first Canonical compound. The transient efficiency of first compound V1 is 52.1%, while the transient efficiency of first compound U1 is 48.8%.
