Information Literacy Among Post Graduate Students in Faculty of Arts in Tishreen University

Abstract

 This study aims to explore the actual information literacy and information skills among Post Graduate Students in Faculty of Arts in Tishreen University, and to identify the research difficulties that encounter students during research process. The researcher follows the survey descriptive design for collect data about skills of information literacy. The study ample was 116 students with Master and Doctorate degree ( ratio 30.3 % of total students numbers) selected randomly from the faculty of Arts in Tishreen University. The data were analyzed by using SPSS program. The results of this study showed that the students have high degree of information literacy and were found that the majority of students have lower skills in dealing with university library. Also it founds that the most difficulties that encounter the students were concentrate on unavailability of specialists workers in university library, who can guide the researchers and help them.
